Up to $10,000 FREE welcome bonus
Silver Oak is an RTG (Realtime Gaming)-powered casino, online since 2008 so with more than a decade of experience. With that length of time in operation, you'd expect pretty much everything to be excellent and Silver Oak claim to be "Shining in Casino Excellence". Well, we'll be the judge of that and whilst not horrible to the extent of being a rogue casino, Silver Oak fall short in lots of ways that make it difficult to completely recommend them.
Owned by the same online gambling group that also operate Captain Jack, Planet 7, Royal Ace and Slot Madness, Silver Oak is very much a casino that needs extremely careful examining of its terms, conditions, policies and a thorough read-through of EVERYTHING on its website before even considering depositing and playing. It's not that Silver Oak lie or outright deceive players but unfortunately the majority of online players tend not to take the time to do this due diligence, often resulting in heartbreak. In most cases and with most casinos, this usually doesn't end in disaster but at Silver Oak it is ESSENTIAL that you get clued-up about where you are playing and how your experience is likely to unfold. If you don't take the time to get to know Silver Oak's way of doing things then there is a very good chance that you will end up disappointed and potentially out-of-pocket.
We strive to be fair with our reviews and in defence of Silver Oak, they have some plus points and they do not hide their shortcomings and often-restrictive methods/rules. The casino's website contains everything players need to know so do your homework and read everything you can find before joining or depositing. We'll highlight the good, the average and the ugly in this review of Silver Oak but we still encourage you to do your own investigating before investing funds.
Getting started at Silver Oak
Starting with eligibility, Silver Oak Casino will gladly accept new members aged 21+ from most countries although some locations are subject to bonus restrictions (ie. not being able to claim certain bonuses). Still, there's a rather lengthy list of excluded countries where signing up is prohibited - see excluded countries further down this page for full details of where is and isn't accepted. In addition to this list, Silver Oak provide a PDF doc and a Word doc, both outlining what is available or excluded in every country.
There's certainly some weirdness to the permitted countries (putting it mildly), given that some uninhabited countries are permitted to claim all bonuses! A quick glance at the countries open to claiming all type of bonus offers will tell you that Silver Oak is primarily targeting countries such as Australia, Austria, Canada, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Africa and the USA, where almost all states are accepted with the exclusion of just Maryland and New York.
Pleasingly, Silver Oak provide clients with the expected three different methods of accessing their casino - in order of quality and preference we have the software downloadable casino, the browser-based casino and finally the mobile version for phones and pads/tablets. Unlike many internet casinos, Silver Oak make no effort to hide their premium download casino and it's easy to find a download link or button regardless of where you are on the casino's website. We always recommend players use the download version of any online casino if provided as it will inevitably be the best of the bunch and give gamblers the most realistic, comprehensive experience. That's the case at Silver Oak but in fairness, the browser version is not a disappointing alternative by any means and we suggest players try both versions.
So where's the mobile casino?
Silver Oak make brief references to their mobile casino but you'll be hard pressed to find much information about it. This is quite strange considering how extensive the information is provided for almost every other aspect of the casino with literally no mention of the mobile version in Silver Oak's FAQ, sitemap or anywhere else we could find. In fact, one solitary image included on the casino's homepage rotation (see screenshot) was all we could find.
We make no secret of not being the biggest fans of mobile casinos, considering them a poor substitute for downloaded premium casinos, but lots of players disagree and enjoy playing via mobile. Given this, it is weird to say the least that Silver Oak has chosen to turn a blind eye to this product in their documentation and advice. Even the links we have been provided with to supposedly reach the mobile casino ended up at error pages.
Games and lots of them
As is often the case with online casinos, Silver Oak's website designers have taken their eye off the ball when it comes to updating some of their pages. This can be seen with the casino's boast that "With more than 130 games, Silver Oak Casino prides itself on showcasing the most exclusive casino games", which these days would be a piss-poor number of games for any RTG casino. It didn't take us more than a minute to calculate that in reality, Silver Oak's game collection is actually closer to 300 titles. It's difficult to decide whether this is a criticism or a compliment but it doesn't look entirely professional when the casino doesn't seem to know its own product range. There is also inconsistency with where and how Silver Oak has provided this information with other locations being closer to the mark with "More than 250 games". Make your mind up, Silver Oak!
Again trying to be fair and balanced with our review, we should point out a player benefit of being able to play multiple games at the same time, side-by-side. Silver Oak reckon this will "maximize your wins" which is a strange statement, considering it could also maximize your losses, depending on how lucky you are being.
If we forgive Silver Oak's lack of website updating/consistency and despite only having games from one provider (RTG), the selection and variety of games is very good. Regardless of what type of game is your thing, you are certain to find it - and probably lots of variants of it - at Silver Oak. As well as a huge array of slot games, including RTG's freshest releases, players have access to video poker, table games including baccarat, craps, poker, pontoon and roulette, plus rummy, scratch cards and other 'speciality/soft games' that can pay out extremely decent wins when compared to slots. These games include bingo, keno and Sic Bo.
Silver Oak's game database is a typical good quality RTG collection and the casino doesn't delay to add new games when they are introduced by the designers. You are advised to download Silver Oak to get access to the casino's full suite of games. All new game releases will be instantly downloadable every time you boot-up the software.
Welcome bonuses - free no deposit offers
So far this review might seem negative (but accurate) so it's refreshing to arrive at a point where we can be entirely complimentary about Silver Oak. This comes in the form of no deposit bonuses for new players and yes, we use the plural because new members get to choose from THREE different completely free welcome bonuses completely risk-free.
Once you've opened your new account at Silver Oak, you will have the option of choosing one of three different no deposit bonuses, each opening your account balance with a different amount of free bonus money. The offers are $25, $50 or $100 with no deposit required and have a wagering requirement of just x30 prior to cashout of up to $100. To claim your bonus of choice, head to the cashier and enter one of the following promo codes to get your free bonus: code SILVER25 for $25, code SILVER50 for $50 or code FREESILVER for $100.
There are lots of different games you can play with your free bonus money but as usual, if you want a realistic chance of reaching cashout stage then it's best to play only games that contribute 100% towards your target which in the case of Silver Oak's freebies are bingo, blackjack, board games, European Slot Poker, keno, scratch cards and slots. You can opt to play other games including table games and video poker but you'll be doubling the work requirement and making it more likely that you'll run out of funds before reaching a withdrawal.
If you, as we did, don't consider the consequences and just want the biggest amount, claiming the FREESILVER $100 bonus then you'll have a lovely starting balance but you will also be making hard work of ever reaching the $3000 wagering requirement. You might be better advised to take one of the lower bonuses and play steadily with your balance without a monster-sized wager target to accomplish. You can read about how well we did (ie. not at all!) by taking the chunky $100 bonus at our sister-website OCNDR (Online-Casinos-No-Deposit-Required.com) by clicking here (will open in a new tab/window). Hopefully the experience of our impatience will help you to do better than we did! In any event, players who go on to make a deposit after claiming their no deposit bonus can then claim ANOTHER of the three options, and if a second deposit is then made then ALL three no deposit bonuses are up for grabs.
As you might expect from the theme of this review, Silver Oak ensure there is a weird and negative element to these no deposit bonuses and it comes in the form of eligible countries. Silver Oak has limited these free offers to certain countries, including some almost-empty locations (eg. Christmas Island - population approx. 1500!) and UNINHABITED countries (eg. Bouvet Island - population zero!) so we're only going to list those eligible countries where there is a realistic chance where people might reside! These countries are Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Japan, Luxembourg, Marshall Islands, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea and USA (excluding Maryland and New York).
If you live outside the above allowed countries but still want to play with these no deposit bonuses, feel free to use the bonus codes because we found that they worked regardless of country of residence, but don't expect a payout of winnings if you live outside the eligible countries. Just use the bonus funds as a fun way to get to know the casino and games if you want to.
Initial deposit bonuses - up to $10,000
Finally, we get a (mostly) straightforward bonus deal without too many niggles or exclusions. Do check the eligible countries PDF/Word docs linked to earlier in this review because it opens up a lot more countries allowed to take part than with the eccentric list of no deposit allowed countries.
New sign-ups at Silver Oak Casino can claim a 100% bonus up to $1000 on each of the first TEN deposits made, meaning there's up to $10,000 in bonus money to be had (and remember you can claim all three no deposit bonuses after making your first two deposits). The wagering requirement for the first ten deposit bonuses is the same as the no deposit offer, ie. x30 and playable on bingo, keno, scratch cards and slots. Again, you can play alternative games with the downside of doubling your wagering requirement to x60 so it's not recommended to stray from the x30 games. To claim these deposit bonuses (and remember that they're optional), you'll need to enter bonus codes SILVEROAK1, SILVEROAK2, SILVEROAK3, etc. in your account cashier (easily and quickly accessible in the download casino and browser edition).
By this stage you wouldn't expect anything else from Silver Oak other than a weird or crappy rule and with the ten deposit bonuses this annoyance is as follows: "When using a deposit bonus, any withdrawal request must exceed the sum of the deposit and the deposit bonus. E.g. If the Player deposits $100 and receives a $100 bonus, the withdrawal request must exceed $200". It's definitely not the worst deposit bonus term we've come across at an online casino but it's still unnecessary in our opinion. Players should be able to cashout lower amounts if they want to and this rule only gives the impression of the casino attempting to restrict members from getting their hands on their own money. On the plus side, Silver Oak state that there is no maximum cashout when using these bonuses so we're happy to end this section on a positive note.
Getting paid - weekly-ish
It's disappointing but not unexpected to end our review of Silver Oak with another criticism, this time regarding payment of winnings. Although the casino is quick enough to accept your deposits, they're not in such a hurry when it comes to handing over your winnings with a paltry weekly limit of just $2,500. This might be enough for most wins but even on those occasions, Silver Oak has an unenviable reputation for being one of the slowest paying online casinos.
It doesn't take long to compare Silver Oak's payout policy to that of other highly regarded RTG casinos such as Roaring 21 ($4000 weekly), Casino Extreme ($4000 weekly) or Intertops Casino ($10,000 daily!) to realise that Silver Oak is intentionally holding onto members' winnings for far longer than is fair or justified, clearly in the hope that players will become impatient and reverse their cashout and lose their winnings. It's not a difficult decision for players to make - vote with your wallet and your winnings and play where you'll get paid quickly. This is the only way that casinos such as Silver Oak will learn to rectify their blatant greediness.
Yes and no. Silver Oak is far from being a rogue casino but they also fall very short of being Grade-A listed. Confusing website information, a lack of live-chat for non-depositors (see below), sub-par payment limits and a baffling list of eligible countries for bonuses are just a few very good reasons to choose an alternative casino to spend your money with. We don't deny that Silver Oak is 'okay' and will suit your needs if you read ALL their rules, terms and conditions carefully and don't mind waiting a considerably long length of time if you hit a big win, but there's no escaping the fact that there are far better RTG casinos for players in all countries. Overall, a very average online casino at best.

Withdrawals for more than $2500 will be settled in weekly instalments which as mentioned will likely be longer than seven days so you should expect some delay in receiving your full cashout if making a large withdrawal.

Live chat: existing members who have already deposited at Silver Oak can reach the casino via a 24/7 operated live-chat facility, easily found at the top of every page on the casino's website. Look for the 'LIVE SUPPORT 24/7 click here' link in the top/right corner. Unfortunately, if you're not already a client of Silver Oak or have not yet deposited at the casino then clicking this link will only give you the option to send a message to the Silver Oak's support staff, rather than chatting directly with them, with a somewhat unfriendly message, "Live Chat is only available for depositing customers". This is a bizarre approach to customer acquisition to the point of being almost unique for an online casino and it's definitely something we'd like to see changed. Lots of potential new customers will have questions before joining and live-chat is often the easiest, quickest way of reaching the casino - Silver Oak's existing policy of 'deposit before we'll chat with you' is unnecessarily rude, off-putting and smacks of greed. It's very far from their claim to be offering online gamblers a welcome that is "Shining in Casino Excellence".
